Data Sources
CasinoUXFieldnotes cites W3C standards, gambling regulators, consumer protection authorities and public design guidance, each with a date. This page lists every source cited on the site and how we check them.
How we check a source
- Open the original document, not a summary, and record the date we read it.
- Record the publication or update date the source shows, or "no date shown".
- Copy quotations exactly and link to the page that holds them.
- Prefer the regulator, the standard or the official guidance over news coverage or law firm summaries.
- Where we can only read a reproduction of an official text, such as a code published by a legal information site, we say so in the source name.
What we do not use
We do not use operator marketing as evidence, unattributed statistics, paid placements, affiliate feeds or survey figures we cannot trace to a published method. We do not publish drop-off or conversion figures, because we have no measured data to support them.
Rechecks
Rules change, sometimes within weeks: the Gambling Commission's deposit limit changes, for example, came in two stages with an extended date. When a cited source changes, we recheck every page that cites it. All sources below were read on October 27, 2026.
